Experience the magic of moonlit cross-country skiing at the final Full Moon Birkie of the season, featuring up to 12 km of skiing under the night sky. This unique evening event celebrates adventure, fitness, and the simple joy of being outdoors in winter.

 

Bring your friends, your headlamp, and your love of XC skiing for a memorable night on the trails. It’s the perfect way to soak up winter and close out the Full Moon Birkie season.

 • 10:00 pm – All skiers must return and sign out

  The countdown to the 2026 Canadian Birkie Ski Festival is on, with final registration closing February 10th at midnight. Participants can once again look forward to several much-loved race weekend features, including the return of heated change trailers, ensuring a warm and comfortable start and finish experience.

 

On course, skiers will be fueled by 7 Summits Snacks, back as a sponsor and serving energy at food stations along the trail. After the skiing is done, Bent Stick Brewing returns with a freshly brewed batch of Uff-da Farmhouse Ale, created in partnership with the Birkie. The ale will be poured at the Nordic Fair on February 13th and again at the Finish Line on Birkie Saturday, giving participants and spectators a perfect way to celebrate.  

  Celebrate Family Day weekend at the Barnebirkie Family Ski on February 15, 2026, at Gold Bar Park. In partnership with the Silver Skate Festival, this classic-style cross-country ski event welcomes kids and parents of all ages and abilities for a joyful day on the snow—where Birkie dreams begin.

 

Families are encouraged to join the fun by taking part in the “Dress Like a Viking” costume contest. Whether it’s a Viking helmet, superhero cape, bright wig, or creative winter gear, come dressed to ski and celebrate like a champion.
