Yes, it's a chain. But I love Shake Shack.
Shake Shack is opening a DRIVE THRU Shack at a new shopping area in Canton opening late next year on Haven Street. I guess uptown will never get a Shake Shack...and that's probably good, along with no Taco Bell near me.

DINNER AT LE COMPTOIR DU VIN

Last night, my friend Jess and I had a lovely first visit back to Le Comptoir du Vin. They're serving lunch 12-3 Weds-Sat and wine bar/dinner Fri-Sat 5:30-10:30. (Drinks till 11:00pm.) No reservations. You can sit at one of about five small tables inside or head outside (downstairs and through to the back) to the patio which is enclosed and heated. There's also another outdoor area out back with a bar that will be open in the spring.
We each started with a cocktail (a Negroni and a spritz), tuna pâté with peppers and balsamic (pictured above), butter lettuce salad (my fave of the night), meatballs (very light and airy) with focaccia and a beef cheek and fontina "toasty" sandwich. And fantastic wine, of course. I have always enjoyed their selections. I am planning my next visit in my head already. I'm thinking a little lunch over winter break so I can have the chicken liver pâté — it's only available at lunch. And, wine. Wine at lunch is such a treat.
Thank you, Rosemary, Will and company for such a nice evening. And for the shop, the takeout, the wine and everything that came out of this crazy, scary pandemic. Your creativity shined throughout and you never lost sight of who you are and what's important to you.

There is a new online source for good (tried and true!) recipes, Foody.
From Tech News: "Foody enables users to buy recipes, or upload their own, and keep them in one ad-free place. It also is partnering with Michelin-star chefs, like Jeremiah Tower, and food writers to monetize their recipes and other content while building relationships with fans."
