News from UCCA

UCCA has been helping Elmhurst District 205’s most financially disadvantaged children and their families for 45 years by providing them with food, referrals, and services.

In 2023 we:

Distributed nearly $141,820 in food and food gift certificates to 357 families
Distributed $4,860 in food gift cards to senior citizens of Greencastle of Elmhurst
Provided 9 opportunities for families “to shop” for food at our Mobile Food Pantries
Distributed more than 1,437 boxes of food, weighing approximately 17 tons, to our families at the holidays

UCCA's Mobile Food Pantries

UCCA sponsors the Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry, inviting Elmhurst District 205 families (and anyone in the area in need of groceries) to “shop” for meats, vegetables and other groceries, as well as cleaning products, several times each year. Mobile Food Pantries are held at Churchville Middle School, 155 Victory Parkway, Elmhurst, IL, from 10:00-11:30 am.

UCCA is excited to announce the 7th annual Taste of the Town: Dining for a Cause! Our Elmhurst food and drink sampling will return to Wilder Mansion on May 16, 2024.

Stay tuned for updates on participating restaurants and businesses!

The Elmhurst Cycling Classic is a full day of bike racing and a 1-mile run on June 8, 2024 - Elmhurst's best Summer Kickoff Party! The race is the primary fundraiser of the DuPage Cycling Foundation which serves several community charities. UCCA will receive a donation from them based on the number of volunteers we sign up. If you can help, please volunteer and be sure to note UCCA in your registration.
