I created this newsletter as a way to keep people in Baltimore informed on ways we all can support our favorite local restaurants and food & beverage businesses.

No ads, no memberships, just info.

All I ask is this: forward it onto a few of your friends who love good food.

DINNER OUTSIDE, WHAT A LOVELY THING

I have to admit that I have been really loving eating outside. I hope some of these pivot setups might continue, like tables in the parking lot at Petit Louis — but it all is a huge amount of work for the restaurants.

I had dinner with three friends at Cinghiale two weeks ago and we were downright GIDDY to see each other. I mean, I can't always afford dinners out, but it is so nice to take a little break from my own cooking and also have a grown up night out. Now, spring is here...so I hope you'll make some reservations. Have a question about which places are opening up and when? Check their Instagram! (Make sure you're following chefs, bartenders and others!) Many places will be opening for outdoor dining soon, some for indoor dining.

One place that is expanding their service this week: Alma Cocina Latina in Station North. Owner Irena Stein tells me they will have tables outside, too.

LAST THREE WEEKS OF CINGHIALE MARKET INSIDE JOHNNY'S

I hope you've had a chance to shop at the fantastic Cinghiale Market located inside the sunroom at Johnny's in Roland Park. It's been such a welcome addition to local shopping options this past (past! almost past!) winter. Sunday, April 18 will be the last day for the market...but don't worry, the following Sunday morning (April 25) the wonderful little farmers market starts back up outside Johnny's. Cinghiale will, again, be a part of the vendor lineup, so you will be able to buy fresh pasta, sauces, bread, etc, there, too.

From this week until April 18, the Cinghiale Market hours will be:
Thursday - Sunday 11:00am - 2:00pm
