Mary Dwyer ~ The Forgiveness Prayer October 3 - 5th 2025
Join us as we explore Forgiveness from the Contemplative Lens. We will explore both the Forgiveness Process and Forgiveness Prayer while steeped in Silence and Centering Prayer (extended sits). Prior Centering Prayer experience recommended.
In this retreat we continue exploring practices to open ourselves to the Spirit's transformational work in us. This retreat is suitable for those new to the Forgiveness Prayer as well as those with experience.
Mary Dwyer has been involved with Centering Prayer since the mid 1980's. In the early 1990's, she lived at Chrysalis House, a contemplative live-in community experiment blessed by Fr. Thomas in Warwick, NY. Her housemates included David Frenette, Cathy McCarthy, and Mary Mrozowski, the founder of the Welcoming Prayer and Forgiveness Prayer practice. She regularly leads workshops on Centering prayer and the Welcoming and Forgiveness Practice.
Location: Congregation of the Holy Spirit6230 Brush Run Road Bethel Park, PA 15102-2214
The Spiritan Center, south of the city of Pittsburgh in Bethel Park, is a ministry of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. The Center has accommodations for retreats, days of renewal, and programs in faith formation as well as other events. Forty acres in a pastoral setting invite the guests to come away and rest awhile. A visit to their website provides a vast amount of the Spiritan's Mission. An example is this link to their "Daily Readings and Weekly Reflections".

Greetings Friends in Faith, I went to bed last night and felt I had nothing to say to you this eNewsletter, and I awoke to a clear morning, bright and sunny, a heavenly temperature. The first in many. I do have much to say! We have recently shared our Pittsburgh early Spring and Summer here with many reminders of Winter! It is June now and I realize I love the month of June (my birthday month). Many of my loved ones share this 2025 Birthday Month. That means sharing of well wishes and some gifts.
Serving in the role of our Chapter Coordinator has been a gift to me. This past Saturday, our Service Team met at my home to purge and preserve the records of what we share and love; Contemplative Outreach Ltd, and our partnership with you through our Pittsburgh Chapter.
There is so much to share regarding our contemplative journey. Many quotes from past and present reaffirm what makes us glad we have been invited through Contemplative Outreach to share in the evangelical nature of our vision. For more information of the awesomeness and goodness of Centering Prayer click HERE , for the Contemplative Outreach 2024 Gratitude Report.
I jot things down now and again. Here is my latest note, addressing our experience of this life. As a nurse and mother, I find that we are on a human mission as Unitary Beings* to develop the ability to forgive and "repent" or resolve guilt. This is accomplished through the love of God and others. And hence we find joy and peace. May yours abound!

"You already are something wonderful, an image and likeness of God, a light that never goes out and that is possibly eternal, but which has been placed in this mysterious situation of a body in an evolving universe and now a consciousness in a world that is able to respond to the advances of God and to make judgements about it, to be self-conscious, to deal with abstract ideas, to be open to the unknown, to the future, to be accepting of the past, to be in the present moment."
