Fed's preferred inflation measure shows slowest monthly increase since 2020 (3 min read)
The Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Index, a Fed’s favored inflation gauge, rose 3.5% year-over-year and 0.1% on a monthly basis in August, the slowest monthly growth since late 2020. Despite remaining above the 2% target, the data aligns with cooling inflation trends. Markets now give a 67.2% chance that the Fed won't raise rates again this year.

Euro zone inflation fell to 4.3% in September, lowest level since October 2021 (2 min read)
As US data shows inflation on a cooling trend, the same occurred in Europe as well. Eurozone annual inflation fell to a new two-year low of 4.3% in September, down from the 5.2% last month. The European Central Bank (ECB) recently made a dovish rate hike with a suggestion that it might be sufficient to address inflation in the medium term. The ECB currently projects an average inflation of 5.6% in 2023, falling to 3.2% in 2024 and 2.1% in 2025.
