As I've always exercised and enjoyed using my body for team and adventure sports, I started coaching part-time while living in Hamburg in 2015. Around the same time, I started writing a book on exercise psychology.
Combining my interests in philosophy, animal behaviour, and fitness, I published the
book earlier this year.
It's called Working [it] Out: what actually makes us exercise?
Instagram worth following: There are so many on the gram. It's a fantastic resource. I've recently started following
@jumpguyty, which trains athletes to improve their jump height. Which I love because I played basketball at school but, at 5'11 could never dunk. Reckon I can change that at 38?
Favourite place to swim: Right now, the public pool in Bunyola. It's clean with mountain views, and it's very convenient, which the second chapter of my book is alla bout.
A place worth eating at: Gotta plug
NUMI in Puerto Portals. I can't afford it, but my brother is the head chef. Maybe we have the same taste buds because his food is to die for.
Who is making a product we should know about: My girlfriend Nadia creates incredible, bespoke life castings. Check out her work at
@abrakadabracastings.Best month of the year on Mallorca: September. Because the music sounds better.
What is one other secret/great tip about Mallorca that you'd like to share with our readers: After there's been a bit of rain, you can hike from
Cúber lake up for a few miles toward
Gorg Blau. Then you can blow up a medium-sized rubber ring (that you brought in your rucksack), sit in it in the aquaduct, and enjoy a slow but magnificent scenic ride back to Cúber.
*Note that it's cool mountain water so a comfy wetsuit doesn't go a miss.
