October has been a bit of a mixed month for me. I got a lot of revision work done during the first half, but preparation for drawing class, among other things, has taken over these past few weeks, leaving little time and energy for writing.
I didn't get as far on the revisions of the sequel as I would have liked, but I am making progress, slowly but surely, and I am pleased to see how it is all coming together!

I plan to keep working on revisions of book two into November. I would love to finish it this month, but with the amount of work I have left I'm not sure whether that will happen or not! Thankfully I have an extra long weekend coming up, so I hope to get lots done.
I'll also be finishing my drawing course this month, and once that wraps up, it should open up more time for writing work!

Book Awards and Other News
|
I mentioned last month that a friend suggested I enter When Shadows Fall into the 2024 Sask Book Awards. I entered three categories (first book award, Regina book award, and fiction book award) and my submission was accepted! I am excited to have When Shadows Fall entered in the Sask Book Awards, and I am hopeful that it will do well in its categories. Fingers crossed!
In other news, I was invited as a guest speaker at a school here in Regina. We've had some trouble with scheduling, but I should be visiting them this month to talk to the Grade 7 and 8s about my writing and publishing process.

I finally finished another drawing for my Redbubble shop! It's the first new addition in a long time, and I guess I must be rusty because I made the size much smaller than usual! Even so, it feels good to have finally added something new to the shop.

Reading: I finally finished the Licanius Trilogy and now I'm trying out a few indie reads on my Kindle. I have some new paperbacks lined up as well, but I haven't decided which one to start next!
