You may remember George Marsh, the immensely talented chef and butcher formerly of Woodberry Kitchen and Parts & Labor? Well, he has finally opened a place of his own, Heritage Smokehouse. There is a bar, too! (Think beer, wine, whiskey...)
Heritage is located at 5800 York Road, just south of Belvedere Square.
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
As I have been telling you (and my brain), I have changed the way I eat over the last several months. I am very sensitive to eggs (I know, that really stinks) and cow's milk. So, I've been trying lots of non-dairy versions of some of my favorite things like milk, cheeses, etc. Similarly, my body has a hard time processing gluten, so I've found some bagels and bread that I like - a LOT. And I feel so much better! So, while I am not allergic to dairy or gluten, my body does react well to it. I always thought my stomach aches were something I had to deal with -- no more.
So, here are a few of my favorites. I will be putting together a more complete list on my blog, but in the meantime, I have been sharing them in my Instagram stories. I have saved these stories in a highlight on my IG profile. If you have trouble processing eggs or gluten or dairy, try cutting them out for a month. It's easier than you think.
Here is a reminder about places in Baltimore with outdoor seating setups — some also have tents, umbrellas and awnings and I will try to note those in my Instagram stories. Please send some of the places where you have enjoyed dining outside. (firstname.lastname@example.org) I gotta say, I love dining outside and will be doing more once the weather cools off a bit. Let's help our favorite restaurants — they are working so hard!
