Register for fall soccer, changes for Fall 2025

Fall soccer

Register now and apply to volunteer for fall soccer to get the early bird discount. Every team needs 2 people to coach and 2 to referee, so sign up to volunteer when you register your child.

If your child wants more soccer, come to goalkeeper academy, skills clinics, and pickup games on Sundays. Form a team with friends of all ages. For more competition, the 10U-14U NEXT Program is a slightly more organized form of pickup games. Please indicate your interest in either on the registration form.

Financial support - Everyone plays in Region 13, regardless of financial circumstances. If the cost is a burden for your family, the registration system will let you pay what you can. If you can afford more, please consider a donation to help cover the league's costs. Write to registrar@ayso13.org if you have any questions.

Volunteers - The cost of background checks is built into the budget. Go ahead and let AYSO pay for those. You can contribute to the scholarship fund on the registration form, and anytime at ayso13.org/donate

Need a soccer ball? Stop by the clubhouse at 711 W Woodbury, Unit E,, Altadena. There'll be a bin of balls outside. Take a ball or leave a ball.

Positive Coaching summer reading

Win the Inside Game by Steve Magness condenses the latest psychology and sports performance research to explain how to build mental frameworks that set athletes up for success. Magness addresses why Positive Coaching works: "Research on professional rugby players found that watching what they did wrong after a game led to elevated cortisol and worse performance the next game. Watching what they did well had the opposite effect: a bump in testosterone and better performance in the games that followed." Magness exhorts us to find the joy in sport, and through that, build a strong and resilient sense of self. Coaches and parents will find strategies to reinforce behaviors that help children (and adults) find meaning and internal motivation, to be high-performing athletes, and also high-performing people.

Congratulations to the three Section All-Stars teams, B10, B12, and B14, for going to the Section 1 All-Stars Championship tournament! This is the first time Region 13 has sent 3 teams, and all won first place in their pools.
