Hello everyone, and welcome back to my newsletter! July has flown by, as it usually does, but I'm looking forward to August being a somewhat slower month! As always, previous newsletters and all segments of my writing journey can be found here at my website's exclusive email archive. Stick around until the end for bonus kitty pictures!

Book sales for When Shadows Fall have slowed down, though they continue to trickle in along with more reviews and ratings on Amazon and Goodreads. I've heard wonderful things from many readers, and am so encouraged to see people enjoying the book!
Earlier in the month I received my second batch of author copies to replace the misprinted/damaged ones I got in June. While most of the books arrived in good condition, unfortunately, there were still a number of misprinted copies. I emailed Amazon about the issue, as it should have been resolved some time ago, but hopefully there won't be any more misprints going forward!
In other news, I was recently interviewed by a local newspaper (The Herbert Herald), and was flattered by the lengthy article they wrote about me and my book. I've also been invited to do a book talk at a school in my city and a book signing at the public library in my hometown, both of which will likely take place some time in the fall.
A couple weeks ago, my parents hosted a get-together for me to celebrate publishing my book with friends and family. We had cake and set up a makeshift table to sign and sell books, making it feel like an official event!

July has been very busy, as expected. I had a lovely time in Montreal with my sister and her family for the first ten days, and then spent a few days at home before coming to visit my parents (plus a family camping trip!) for the rest of the month.
I've tried to fit in as much writing as possible, but around family time, camping, and recently getting sick, there has not been much time to spare! However, I did finish the beta-read I started last month in addition to some brainstorming/writing for the third book in the series. I'm over 55,000 words into the draft, though there's still a lot more to do!

I've spent the first few days of August at my parent's but will return home soon. I've gotten quite a bit of writing done here this week, and once I'm home, I should have almost three full weeks to focus before school starts up again. I still hope to finish my first draft of book three before the end of August (so that I have a better idea of what changes to make to my current draft of book two!), in addition to promoting When Shadows Fall and making it available in some local book stores and libraries.

Thank you so much to all of you who have left a review/rating on Goodreads and especially on Amazon; I deeply appreciate every single review and rating I receive!
I can't overstate how important reviews and ratings are to a book's success, especially for a new author, so if you have read When Shadows Fall and have not yet left a review, I encourage you to do so! Just use the links below. 🙂

Once again, things have been so busy that I have not found time to add new designs to my Redbubble store. I did find my doodle stash, however, and was surprised to see how many drawings I've accumulated in the past year! (Photo evidence below.)

Reading: I'm enjoying "An Echo of Things to Come", the sequel to the book I was reading last month. It is a hefty book, but thanks to my camping trip, I'm about half way through it now!
