Howdy,
Recently, I found myself immersed in the lives of two very different groups of friends at contrasting stages in their lives. One, a couple of newlyweds trying to keep up pace with their growing business — they’re earning a lot but spending quite a bit along the way.
The other is a group of parents choosing to work less, which means earning and spending less too. What they value the most at this moment in time is being able to spend quality time with their kids before they go to school and inevitably grow up way too fast.
While immersed in such differing experiences, I could see the contrast vividly. Despite my friends' being in such different places in their lives; they’re all making financial decisions that reflect their current identities, express their current values, and influence how they want to live.
The experience reminded me to step back and take stock of how I’ve been spending my time, money, and energy. What ways have you been spending money, time and energy to express your values and priorities? Don’t be shy; hit reply.
