As we head into Week 7, here’s a quick reminder to let the coaches be the only ones giving instructions during games. Our players learn best when they have the space to make their own choices, and yes, their own mistakes too. Every missed pass or awkward play is part of how they grow and discover the game for themselves. And after the game, the best thing you can say is a simple, “I loved watching you play.”
NEXT WEEK: All-Star Tryouts
Each October, players from the Fall season in the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions are invited to try out for Region 13 All-Star teams, which compete from January to March.
Tryouts will be held at Rose Bowl Area H on Sunday, October 26th, and Sunday, November 2nd. Attending both tryout dates gives coaches the best opportunity to assess players as they make roster selections.

This Sunday’s NEXT sessions will be the final ones before All-Star tryouts. Players are invited to come out for fun drills and scrimmages with friends. Next will resume on Sunday, November 9.

Our tournament is back and being held on the three days immediately after Thanksgiving: Friday. November 28, Saturday, November 29, and Sunday, November 30
The tournament is open to all interested teams in the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions. Every team is guaranteed three games with additional games for playoffs.
Grad Series Registration is Open
Grad Series is an exciting 8-week program in winter designed for players moving up from 8U to 10U (born in 2015 or just finished a season in 8U). Players experience real 10U soccer with 7v7 games on a 10U-sized field with goals, goalkeepers, and all the official Laws of the Game, including offside.
This year, all sessions take place on Saturdays (January–March), with a 45-minute practice followed by a 50-minute game, all in one fun, fast-paced session! Grad Series is one of our most popular programs. It’s a fun, supportive, and confidence-building way to prepare for the jump to 10U soccer.
Spots fill quickly and registration is first-come, first-served, with priority given to volunteer coaches and referees.

Region 13's second Referee Fun Day happens this weekend at Marshall, as one field of 10U officials don pink uniforms for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Be sure to pop by and cheer on the teams, and the officials, as this special crew keeps the games safe, fair, and above all—fun.
Project Play Youth Sports Survey
Project Play is conducting a National Youth Survey to gather feedback from young people on their feelings about sports. This survey covers a range of topics, including current participation, interest in trying new sports, and much more. No personally identifiable info is collected.

Last week, over 100 Region 13 players and parents enjoyed watching a thrilling 2-1 victory by the home team, the LA Galaxy. But something even more extraordinary happened before the match. One of the Galaxy’s top sponsors, City National Bank, presented Region 13 with $25,000 worth of tickets to matches in the upcoming 2026 season.
This gift was given in recognition of the many difficulties Region 13 families continue to face in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire. We are beyond grateful for their incredible generosity and look forward to hundreds of young soccer players having the opportunity to watch the beautiful game being played at the highest level, in person, next season.
