February was a slow month for me, largely because I was gone for eleven days of it! I've had some trouble finding my footing with the second draft of book three, but though I didn't make as much progress as I'd hoped, I did get 20,650 words done. Meanwhile, my beta readers have been busy reading book two, and a few of them have even finished. I am saving a detailed look at their feedback for when I'm ready to tackle the next revision of book two, but so far, it looks like I'm getting a lot of positive and constructive feedback! In other news, I finally got around to updating my website, namely improving the home page and adding an updates section for casual visitors to the site. If you want to see the changes, you can click here.

I hope to make good progress on book three this month. There is still a lot to do, but I'd like to get at least halfway through it, if not farther. I also hope to do a bit more work promoting and marketing When Shadows Fall as time allows!

I've entered When Shadows Fall into the "Book Bloggers Novel of the Year Award", an annual Indie book award hosted and judged by book bloggers from all over the world. Prizes include monetary rewards, trophies/badges, promotional materials, and blog tours. These blog tours in particular mean increased exposure for a book, so I am hopeful When Shadows Fall will perform well in the competition!
When Shadows Fall has also been added to two more local bookstores, which is always exciting! I owe a great deal of thanks to my dad, who not only reached out to multiple stores/libraries on my behalf, but has also helped deliver copies of my book to said stores!

Five signed copies of my book ready for the store! (Apologies for the dim lighting!)

Another month has gone by, and still no new designs for my Redbubble shop. While I still hope to get back into the habit of adding new art to the shop, given that writing is my main focus I have decided to remove this section of my newsletters unless I actually have something new to share!

Reading: I'm currently reading an advance copy of Hopesgrave Easily, a novel by indie author, Francis O'Dowd. So far, the book is quirky and imaginative, and I'm curious to see where it will lead!
