Game schedules for Victory Park on October 11 and 18 have changed! Coaches of affected teams have been notified, but please take note of updates on the schedule page on the website.
Picture Days Begin
This Saturday is the first of three upcoming Picture Days (Oct. 4, Oct. 18, and Nov. 1 at Victory Park). Remember to arrive at your team’s scheduled time, looking sharp and ready to pose.
Find the schedule and info at ayso13.org/pictures. Each player will receive a free digital download of their photo, but there are many ways to have a special memento of the Fall 2025 soccer season: check out the full array of offerings from NSPN here.
Picture Day Volunteers Still Needed!
To make sure all that memory-making runs smoothly, we NEED volunteers. Hopefully, at least one parent per team can help out for a simple one-hour shift. Learn more and sign up to help here.
Players and coaches in 10U, 12U, and 14U are invited to sign up for the 2026 All-Star season. Running from January through mid-March, all-star teams compete at different levels of play against teams from around the area. Head over to the All-Stars page on the website to learn more.
Bring a Team to the Turkey Tournament
Does your child like soccer? A lot? If they're looking for greater challenges, any certified coach can invite children to play together as a team in an AYSO tournament. The next opportunity is this fall at the Region 13 Thanksgiving Tournament. You can indicate that you’d like to be part of a tournament team, and volunteer to help out, at the signup forms below

Sundays Soccer
On Sundays, Region 13 offers two opportunities for more fun soccer with friends:
Sunday Skills is open to enthusiastic players of all ages looking for extra play. Professional coaches from Launch Sports run skills-focused drills, including goalkeeper academy. This is a great way to get extra touches and have more fun with friends.
Join Sunday Skills from 3:30–5pm at the La Canada High School JV fields.
NEXT is perfect for players looking to prepare for the All-Star season & play more soccer with friends. Sessions begin with a short technical focus, followed by a scrimmage.

When he’s not on the fields, longtime Region 13 volunteer Calum Torrie is the head of system science and engineering for the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO), and the LIGO associate director for Caltech. In June, Calum visited his childhood school in Glasgow, Scotland, to present an amazing student-collaboration melding space exploration and art. Read all about it here.

Letter from the Commissioner
Hi ⚽️ Families,
This past weekend, I refereed two games, 10U and 16U. Of course, the games were different: In 10U, the kids are still trying to understand the Laws of the Game, and they’ve only started playing together a short month ago. In 16U, the players know almost everyone else on the field, including the players on the other team. They also understand the Laws well, and the game has developed components of strategy and technique.
On the other hand, the games were more similar than they are different: both follow the same Laws and rules, but more importantly, both involved our kids playing together, simply trying to move a ball down a field with their feet. They kicked and missed and tried again. They cheered when they scored, groaned when they made a mistake, and laughed when something unexpected happened.
This week, when you’re out at your game, I would encourage you to look around at all of the kids playing soccer and notice all of the aspects that bring us together. Whether the kids are 7 years old or 17, soccer is a unifying force, and AYSO offers us all a chance to cheer, groan, and laugh. Together.
