What to Expect - Week 4
This week's newsletter is packed with important information as we head into week 4, so be sure to read everything everything below to stay up-to-date!
It's going to another hot weekend, so please make sure to hydrate before and during practices and games! Bring extra water, ice, or misters to help keep stay cool. Be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen, and have your parents bring any umbrellas or pop-up tents for extra shade.
The first Picture Day is taking place later this month! As a reminder, Picture Day is included in the registration fee and each player will receive team and individual digital photos. Region 13 will be hosting Picture Days on October 15, November 5, and November 12. Your Team Manager will have more details and your team will be assigned to one of these dates for a particular time.
Additional reminders:
✔ If you have the first game on the field, everyone gets to help set up the goals. Yay! For the last game, help take them down.
✔ Please remember to set your coaches up for success, and let theirs be the only voices telling the kids what to do during games.
✔ We'd love to hear from you! Please send us your feedback here: https://ayso13.org/feedback.
Please remember that Game Cards need to be printed on card stock. Region 13 provides card stock to all coaches - please stop by the Clubhouse to pick up more, it's located just outside the door. Please reach out to your DCA's for any questions!
Every player in 8U and below will receive a trophy at the end of the season. The league will be placing orders next week, so please make sure to put your Team Name in your team spreadsheet. Otherwise, the defalut will be what's shown in there (ex. G6U12-Simpson).
Our next Continuing Coach Education session is Monday, October 3 from 6:30 - 8 pm at the AYSO Region 13 Clubhouse. This is a great opportunity to get some insights from a very experienced coach - Barry Ritson of Surf and Launch Sports.
Additional reminders:
✔ Practices should only be held on the scheduled place and time were the leage has field permits. For any players who want to practice on their own, please be advised that parents are responsible for them during this time.

✔ Need additional tips on coaching or cultivating a strong team culture? Visit Region 13 Coaching Guide for more info.
Please remember to return Game Cards to Region 13's Clubhouse at the end of each Saturday. If you are the last game referee on non-Victory Park fields, make sure the white envelope on the goal makes it through to the Clubhouse mail slot. The last coaches and referees can decide who takes it to the Clubhouse. The address is on the envelope!
Additional reminders:
✔ Remember to write your team's ID (e.g. B14U04) on the game card so your team gets credit. Return game cards to the envelope at the tent at Victory or through the mail slot at the clubhouse. You can also use the QR code on the bottom to upload pictures but we also need the paper game cards returned!
✔ Remember to use the referee schedule app to confirm your referee assignment. If you can't make an assignment, click "No" to let another referee know to fill in for you!
As a reminder, Picture Day is scheduled for October and November. Schedules for Oct. 15 were emailed to Team Managers and Coaches. If you haven't received anything yet, please email vandana@ayso13.org with the subject line, "Picture Day Schedule" - include your team number and/or division and Coach's name.
