Instagram worth following: I'm very selfishly going to have to mention my account
@sports_hotelsWhen I travel, I’m not the type to lay on the sun lounger or on the beach all week.
The account promotes premium sports hotels and active holiday destinations. So not only Mallorca but across all of southern Europe. I target mainly cyclists and triathletes, but also have something to offer for active families, groups and training camps.
Favourite place to swim: In Mallorca, it would have to be
Barcarès. I spend a lot of time there in the summer months and love the fact that it’s local. There are no big hotels nearby, so it never gets busy, not even in peak season. The sunset swims are amazing!!
Sshhh, keep it to yourself!
A place worth eating at: Sorry guys, but that would have to be at my in-laws. My mother in laws cooks up amazing local dishes every Sunday for the family lunch. All using local and fresh products.
But another local shout-out would be
@restauranteesverger which is located halfway up to Alaró castle. Great to combine with a day out hiking!
Who is making a product we should know about: @conalma_design. I have to mention this local business from my town. Handmade Mediterranean-style wooden pieces, from tables to cutting boards. You must check them out!
Best month of the year on Mallorca: I must say I quite like the change that comes with each of the seasons. But if I had to choose, it would be the summer. I love the heat, the long days and spending time in the water.
What is one other secret/great tip about Mallorca that you'd like to share with our readers: Tough one. The first tip, if you want to call it that, is please avoid the horse-drawn carriages in Palma and Alcúdia, etc. Explore the towns on foot or by bike.
