What to Expect - Week 7
This week's newsletter contains important information heading into this weekends game, be sure to read everything below for the latest!
It's hard to believe we are half-way through the season! Know what this means? Playoffs for 10U, 12U, and 14U will be happening the weekend after Thanksgiving. Keep up the hard work, and good luck for the remainder of the season!
Playoffs will be starting the weekend after Thanksgiving on December 3. This will be a single-elimination tournament, and teams are seeded into brackets of comparable records from the season. The tournament is designed to be competitive. Good news, everyone makes the playoffs!
If you win the "A" bracket tournament, your team will go onto the "Play-Through" tournament. If your team wins here, your team goes to the Section 1 tournament in Riverside in February. If your team wins here, your team goes to the Western States Tournament in Bullhead City, Arizona. But for now, let's just worry about December!

Your players are likely getting comfortable with each other to the point practices might need some extra wrangling in. This is a good problem! It means they're having a great time with each other. But how do you get control of this? Back to the basics! Revisit the fundamentals, work on dribbling, passing, and channel their extra energy into teamwork.
All-Stars Tryouts are happening later this month! Please encourage your players to try out for All-Stars. It's a good challenge for everyone, and it's a great way for players to continue their development.
Schedule update: Due to the rain-out last Saturday, we have re-made the game schedule for the last Saturday of the season (Nov 19). The 6U-8U games are unchanged, but the 10U, 12U, and 14U matchups and games have been changed, to allow teams to make-up competitive games from last Saturday, i.e., games that count in the standings. We apologize for the change, but the last Saturday of the season often contains friendly “practice” games for just this contingency. The new schedule has been posted in the interactive schedule, on InLeague, and in PDF form on the website

✔ Preliminary player assessments were due this week. Please visit your team spreadsheet for instructions, or reach out to your DCA.

There have been changes made to the schedule for 10U, 12U, and 14U teams for November 19. The new schedule has been posted in the interactive schedule, on InLeague, and in PDF form on the website.

✔ Please return Game Cards to Region 13's Clubhouse at the end of each Saturday.
✔ Use the referee schedule app to confirm your referee assignment. If you can't make an assignment, click "No" to let another referee know to fill in for you!

I recently started coaching a G10U team - I have been coaching a B16U team all season. The girls are so adorable (and so small compared to those big 13-15 year old boys!) What a reminder of why AYSO Region 13 serves such an important role in our community. Have fun tomorrow!
