The High School Student Handbook is available on the High School website on the "For Families" page. The handbook represents portions of school policies and guidelines that are essential to the efficient operation of the school district. It summarizes basic rights and responsibilities of students at South Milwaukee High School.
POLICY HIGHLIGHT: Food and Beverages
This week highlights our policy about students bringing food into the building, or having food delivered.
Special food deliveries (GrubHub, Uber Eats, McDonalds, etc.) will not be allowed during the school day unless there are special circumstances. Food delivered to the main office, or unauthorized door, will be sent back with the person delivering the food, and will not be accepted or delivered to the student.
NOTE: Family members may drop off a student's lunch in the main office for the student to pick up at lunchtime. Office staff may request an ID of the person dropping off the meal.
When students arrive late to school with food/beverages purchased on the way to school, it shows that they could have arrived earlier if they had not stopped to purchase those items. They will be required to turn the product over to office staff upon entering the building and will be sent to class.
