When Shadows Fall has had an adventurous first week in the world, full of crazy ups and downs. Release day was a huge success, and the book made it all the way to #22 on Amazon's Hot New Release list for books in Canada, and even hit #1 in Fantasy Adventure for Young Adults! It's continued to rank high in this category, moving up and down through the top 15.
I've also been interviewed by a local news site who wanted to write a story on me and my book. I will link to the article in the July newsletter so that you can read it too!

Unfortunately, for every high there is a low. A few days into release, my sister found a paragraph in the book that didn't belong, and I soon discovered that a glitch in my formatting software had resulted in two mistakes.While the second error was quite minor (one paragraph reverted to an earlier version of itself), the main error consisted of a duplicate paragraph from chapter one replacing a paragraph in chapter two. Disaster!Naturally, I went into a frenzy trying to rectify the situation as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, because of recent changes to the formatting program I'm using, I no longer have access to my original file for When Shadows Fall, which meant all changes had to be done through the support team at Atticus. It was a gruelling process, and even after they sent me a corrected file, I couldn't trust that new errors hadn't been made. (The last time they made a fix for me, it resulted in one of the accidental paragraph changes!) My brother-in-law and I spent hours confirming that the new file was correct, and I was finally able to upload it to Amazon. Everything worked out okay in the end, but needless to say, it was a harrowing 24 hours! I believe most of the people who received these misprints have been informed, however, if you ordered a print copy of When Shadows Fall prior to June 9th and have not yet been given the corrected version of the two pages with errors in them, you can click here to get them now.
